Viva Centros Comerciales celebrates 10 years contributing to the development and transformation of the shopping center industry in Colombia. And we want to celebrate and share it.

Viva, from Grupo Éxito, is the brand of the largest shopping center chain in Colombia; and Grupo Éxito is the largest and best-selling retailer in Colombia.

For our team it has been an extraordinary experience to have helped create and develop, since its inception, the identity of this beloved and recognized brand. In less than 10 years, 15 shopping centers is quite a milestone.

It all started in 2012 with the opening of the Viva Laureles shopping center in Medellín. There we began the exciting history of this great brand.

Viva Laureles was built in an important area of ​​Medellín around Éxito Laureles, one of the most important stores in sales in the country, marking the beginning of the history of the Viva brand and the starting point for new developments and openings of shopping centers.

Today Viva emerges as the largest developer and operator of shopping centers in the country, a national brand present throughout the territory with 15 centers in operation, through which 120 million people pass each year, with 484,000 m² of commercial area, and more than 1,100 brands.

Viva has managed to transform the shopping center industry in Colombia, grouping different shopping center operations into an integrated concept recognized by merchants, clients and consumers, under a single property management model that allows maximizing the performance of commercial assets to be more competitive and that seeks to create value through strategic direction and the real estate value chain.

Viva has also committed to sustainability. It has obtained LEED certification for several of its assets, it has more than 15,000 solar panels that generate renewable energy and contribute 21% of energy consumption in the common areas of the facilities.

In the last year, Viva centers have reduced conventional energy consumption by 21% and have stopped emitting 1,137 tons of CO2, thanks to the use of renewable sources, LED lighting, saving strategies and automation of lighting systems and systems. efficient cooling.

Shopping centers must act as a brand. A brand that encompasses experiences for visitors and that is recognized above the operators or the main locomotives of the Center and of course its competition. A brand committed to its environment and people. A brand for the development and transformation in the shopping center industry and the country.
